Earlier this month, the Senate passed a bipartisan infrastructure package and $3.5 trillion budget resolution. This week, the House also voted to move forward with these pieces. Now, more concrete negotiations on specifics will begin. The infrastructure package does not contain specific funding for Community Colleges but does support broadband. The budget resolution only contains broad spending targets. Once they pass it, we expect the Committees to start drafting legislation that includes Community College specific priorities, such as Community College infrastructure funding, workforce funding and a Promise program. This process is now in the House. We will be watching the process closely and in touch with our federal delegation as we move forward.
