Mark your calendars for two educational webinars happening on June 8th, hosted by the Rural Community College Alliance and AACC.
11am: The Gainful Employment Rule: What It Means for Community Colleges
Join the AACC government relations team to learn what you need to know about the Biden administration’s proposed gainful employment (GE) rule. This regulation aims to protect students by potentially eliminating Title IV eligibility for programs that do not lead to “gainful employment.” While similar in many respects to the Obama administration’s GE rule, there are key differences that may affect your college. Tune in to find out what those are and how you can participate in the rulemaking process.
12pm: Utilizing Benchmarking Data to Make Data-Informed Decisions at Rural CC's
As budgets are declining and enrollment trending downward in higher education, rural community colleges are more likely to feel the impact than their counterparts as their costs of providing services are higher and they struggle to reach and retain students. In this unique environment, it is critical to make data-informed decisions to effectively utilize resources and impact student outcomes. In this session, East Central College, a rural community college in Missouri, will present how they use the benchmarking data from the NCCBP at their institution to make data-informed decisions. Additionally, the Benchmarking Institute will present the benchmarking data, reports, tools, and examples of trends in data specifically for rural community colleges.
