This week the legislature began discussing the Government Reorganization bill and new bills were introduced regarding pipelines and eminent domain. The Governor signed SF181, changing property tax valuations for the next fiscal year. It also extends the deadline for recertifying budgets to April 30, 2023.
We are looking forward to next week’s Day on the Hill! Legislators are just beginning to discuss budgets so it’s a great time to remind them of the value of their investment in Iowa’s Community College students.
At the federal level, Rep. Ashley Hinson released her Community Project Funding application, which is due March 10, 2023. No other representatives or senators have released their applications for this year, but we will share them here when they do.
