Week Two at the Capitol has been dominated by discussions of the proposed K-12 Education Savings Accounts. A public hearing on this subject and committee meetings have drawn hundreds who want to weigh in. Budget subcommittees have begun to meet and started off with presentations from the Legislative Services Agency on the Governor’s Proposed Budget. This year there once again will not be Joint Budget Subcommittees. Each chamber will do their work separately. The House Education Budget Subcommittee has begun to schedule presentations from stakeholder groups and we expect to be invited.
