This week, the legislature was focused on competing tax cut proposals. The House version does not include the corporate tax cut being proposed by the Governor and Senate and negotiations are ongoing. This week the Senate also released it’s K-12 education funding proposal at a 2.25% increase (the Governor proposed 2.5% and Democrats are proposing 5%). There was also a lot of work on the Governor’s biofuels proposal. On Tuesday, DMACC President Rob Denson presented to the Information Technology Committee on lessons learned related to last summer’s ransomware attack on the College. At last week’s board meeting, we heard from a panel of students about their experiences at our Colleges. The recording of that is now available in the member portal.
