The slow pace continued at the legislature this week with little action on bills related to our issues or the budget. Both sides sent most members home early this week as they continued to negotiate on some major issues including K-12 Education Savings Accounts, also known as vouchers.

Update on Hiring Processes
Three Iowa Community College Presidents are retiring this year, which has meant three searches for new presidents. In February, NICC selected Dr. Herb Riedel as that college’s new leader, beginning July 1. Two other searches are still ongoing. Last week, Iowa Lakes announced four finalists and they plan to make a selection yet this month. EICC extended their search and is accepting applications through May 3rd.
