This week was the second funnel deadline at the Iowa legislature. This means Senate bills must be reported out of House committees and House bills out of Senate committees. See our bill watch for an update on what lived and what died. More appropriations bills were released in the House this week as well and committee meetings on those bills have begun. We expect the House to release their education budget next week and consider it in committee on Tuesday. The Senate has not yet released any budget bills.
