This week at the legislature saw many committee meetings and discussions about all levels of higher education. We are monitoring several issues (see the bill watch for more details). We were able to have good conversations with legislators this week about the implications of those bills. We are also preparing for next week. On Tuesday, we will present before the House Education Appropriations Budget Subcommittee at 9 am. The meeting will be streamed on Webex and you can find the link here on Tuesday morning. Next week is also the ACCT National Legislative Summit, which is being held virtually. You can still register to participate. Trustee board members and presidents are meeting virtually next week with each member of our congressional delegation to share updates on Iowa’s community colleges and our federal priorities. Finally, we are reviewing the Governor’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board Final Report, which was released Thursday and could have implications for Community Colleges.
