October 16, 2024 Cedar Valley Manufacturing Conference
Join us for the 2024 Cedar Valley Manufacturing Conference where we will be sharing best practices for standardization, certifications, and workforce training. The keynote speech is titled "An Easier Path to Smart Manufacturing Skills in the Workforce" presented by Jim Wall, founder and executive director of the Smart Automation Certification Alliance (SACA). Advanced technologies are paving new paths for today's workers, offering opportunities to upskill existing workers and train new workers for high-paying careers in advanced manufacturing and energy industries. SACA will share how communities can accelerate the availability of training for these career pathways by leveraging industry-driven micro-credentials to shape workforce training programs and how workers can accumulate micro-credentials as they work and apply them to emerging two-and four-year degrees. February 17-21, 2025 Leadership in Action Week
Students, faculty/staff, leadership, and supporters of Iowa's community colleges will raise awareness about these institutions' impact during our Leadership in Action Week. Mark your calendars for our Student Legislative Seminar (2/18, 2-4pm); Phi Theta Kappa Awards (2/18, evening); and Community Colleges Day on the Hill (2/19, 7:30am-12pm). Another important way to participate is contacting legislators, sharing stories, and rallying campuses and communities to speak out on the importance of Iowa's community colleges. All of our statewide network joining in and speaking up will make a difference and support our legislative priorities for even more Iowans to find success from learning and earning opportunities in our state.
