ACCT and the Student Success Through Applied Research Lab Release Brief and Dashboard That Explore State Funding Models for Community Colleges
The Association of Community College Trustees is excited to publish a new brief that explores how states fund community colleges based on the enrollment for their students, including those pursuing credit-bearing degrees and certificates, non-credit workforce programs, and those enrolled via dual-enrollment programs. Research was conducted with project partners at the Student Success Through Applied Research (SSTAR) Lab at the University of Wisconsin and explored how each of the 50 states, plus Washington, D.C., and select territories, are funded for each of the three program types. The resulting inventory identifies the prevalence of state funding for credit-bearing, dual-enrollment, and noncredit activities across the U.S. along with identifying the policy mechanisms that states use to fund these activities.

SEIRMC Celebrate New Radiologic Technology Program with Ribbon Cutting
SCC celebrated the launch of its new Radiologic Technology program with a ribbon cutting at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center on September 26. In 2022, leadership at SCC and Great River Health launched a partnership designed to expand SCC's nursing program capacity to help address the nursing shortage. Great River Health and SCC administrators worked together to clear each hurdle in 2022. Great River Health would offer space at its West Burlington facility, provide equipment, and agree to help underwrite the cost of hiring faculty. Great River Health typically fills eight to ten openings for radiologic technologists each year to staff its facilities across the region. The two-year program is designed to serve up to 20 students per year, with a total capacity of 40. SCC's Radiologic Technology Program Director, Laura Ryder, expressed her excitement about teaching the first cohort of students.
