2025 NLS Registration is now open!
With a change in presidential administration upon us and the start of the 119th U.S. Congress, we need your voice in Washington this February to advocate for your community college and your students. Federal funding, legislative changes, and regulatory actions will all be under consideration next year. More participation from community college leaders translates to more support for our institutions and for our students. The Community College National Legislative Summit is the premier community college advocacy event in Washington, D.C., bringing together more than 1,000 community college leaders. The event shines a spotlight on the importance of our nation's community colleges for Congress and the Administration. Participants also have the opportunity to network with fellow community college leaders and meet with their U.S. representatives in Congress to advocate for their support for community colleges and their students. NLS is Sunday, February 9 - Wednesday, February 12. The NLS is designed to inform and educate community college leaders on federal policy issues that impact postsecondary institutions and students, as well as to provide a pathway for individuals to advocate on behalf of their colleges. Community colleges are the beneficiaries of billions of dollars in federal support each year. The NLS provides a mechanism for you to connect with key decision makers, and to impart your expertise.
Advocacy Quick Hits: ED Names Colleges Eligible for New 'Success' Awards

Part of the Biden administration's broad Raise the Bar initiative, the program seeks to identify and uplift colleges and universities that promote social mobility. After soliciting feedback, the department used publicly available data to identify colleges and universities that have met key equity performance measures and will be invited to participate in the next phase of the selection process. One hundred predominately associate or certificate-granting institutions were identified, including 90 public community and technical colleges in 22 states and American Samoa. Among these colleges, both WITCC and SWCC are eligible.
