Come stop in, visit our team, or host your group at our newly improved offices, just steps from the Iowa Capitol Building. Thanks to all who were able to join us for our open house!

Joint Board Meeting with Presidents and Trustees
November marks a month when both the CCforIowa Board of Trustees and the Presidents hold a joint meeting for greater collaboration. The agenda included sharing recent wins across Iowa community colleges, discussing the 60th Anniversary of Community Colleges for Iowa in 2026, and a presentation on the 2026 Legislative Session and Fall Elections from Edie and Walton. We’re grateful for the dedication of this group.
Eight Iowa Community Colleges Declared Eligible for 2025 Aspen Institute Prize for Community College Excellence
The Aspen Institute for Community College Excellence is dedicated to recognizing and promoting the achievements and performance of the USA’s two-year colleges. Each year, the Aspen Institute awards $1 million to a two-year college that exemplifies student success in areas including outcomes, retention, transfer, and bachelor’s attainment rates. This year, eight of Iowa’s community colleges have been named as part of the 200 eligible competitors: DMACC, EICC, Iowa Western, NIACC, NCC, Southeastern Iowa Community College, SWICC, and WITCC.
“Among these 200 colleges are some really special places that deliver strong and improving outcomes for students across the board,” said Josh Wyner, executive director of the Aspen Institute College Excellence Program. “Our job over the coming 20 months is to gather a lot more data and work with a deep bench of field experts to assess which of these 200 stand out so we can not only honor them with a monetary award, but drive attention to the most effective field practices that other colleges can replicate.”
