August 2-4: 2023 ACCT Governance Leadership Institute: Fundamentals of Governance

This annual program is designed to orient new and experienced community college trustees, presidents, and board staff to their roles and responsibilities, and to foster discussion of current issues and best practices for high-performing boards. Topics include: the work of the board and board operating procedures, parliamentary procedures, the board/CEO relationship, the board's role in advocacy, board ethics, the board's role in accreditation, and more.

October 4-6 Iowa Best Summit: Higher Education Mental Health & Wellbeing Track
Iowa Events Center in Des Moines, IA
This important event will focus on building a community of care for staff and faculty & mental health and well-being in higher education. All university and college staff and faculty in Iowa are invited to attend with programming, workshops, and plenary sessions focused on "Caring for Self While Caring for Others." November 2-3 Way Up Conference
For over thirty years, Iowans have hosted and attended The Way Up Conference to support women in higher education institutions as they develop their leadership and administrative expertise. Whether you have knowledge and skills to share or are eager to learn and connect, we hope you plan to attend this year’s The Way Up Conference!
This year, the event will be held November 2-3, 2023 at the Hilton Des Moines Downtown Conference Center, Des Moines, Iowa.

In 2023, we are hosting the inaugural Community Colleges for Iowa Convention and Tradeshow. The event will be the only statewide professional development conference in Iowa focusing exclusively on community college administrators, staff, and faculty. This event will feature engaging and informative sessions, hands-on opportunities to engage with local partners, networking opportunities, and most importantly, tons of fun!
