CCforIowa’s 2025 Convention & Tradeshow

Calling for Nominations for Outstanding Community College Awards

On the Wednesday evening of the Convention and Tradeshow, our network gets dolled up and celebrates excellence. Each of the 15 colleges nominates one faculty member and one staff member to be honored for their dedication and impact. Additional statewide awards recognize an exceptional advocate for community colleges, a business or industry partner making a meaningful difference, a standout alumni demonstrating leadership and service, and an innovative program or project that drives creativity and continuous improvement. More information for your campus to determine and submit its nominees can be found here.

Register for The Chronicle of Higher Education’s Festival to be held September 16–18 virtually (free)

The Chronicle of Higher Education’s 2025 Festival will take place over the course of three afternoons to unpack the unique pressures on colleges and universities today – political uncertainty, declining enrollment, generative AI, and growing public skepticism. National education leaders will unpack this year’s theme, Innovation Amid Uncertainty, and dive into questions like, “How is Gen Z redefining the student experience?” and “How can we align college learning with workforce demands, without losing our purpose?”

Register for AACC’s Advocates in Action Seminar to be held September 17-18 in Washington, D.C.

The American Association of Community Colleges’ Advocates in Action is a 2-day program designed for community college leaders who want an insider’s view on how Washington formulates higher education policy and who want to become more involved in the federal legislative process. Interactive sessions with key executive branch officials and senior Congressional staff will provide valuable insights about the current dynamics and issues surrounding key funding and other pending legislation.
