State General Aid
Increase State General Aid no less than $8.8 million as calculated by the State Board of Education formula to address the higher education state funding per pupil disparity.
Workforce Training
Support public and private funding opportunities for credentialed training partnerships between students, Community Colleges, businesses, and others in Work Based Learning. Support local decision-making and ongoing funding for the Iowa Skilled Worker and Job Creation Fund and New Jobs Training Programs
Local Community Support
Provide elected Community College Boards the governance flexibility to access local funding in its discretion.
Community Colleges serve 1 in 10 Iowans
10,563 students in Chapter 260E training programs benefitted 751 Iowa businesses and 172,041 students in Iowa Skilled Worker & Job Creation Fund programs benefitted 6,334 Iowa businesses.
